Accountabilities/Responsibility
- Provide support services for Storage & Backup systems.
- Experience with documenting processes and procedures.
- Provide input and support for infrastructure and application development projects which required backup infrastructure.
- Provide on-call assistance for data center operations.
- Maintenance releases to ensure that environment is optimally configured.
- Consults with other internal IT teams (database administrators, systems administrators, application engineers) on storage & backup solutions.
- Work within change management process to ensure that outages are scheduled to minimize impact on clients, but still maintain all hardware and software at optimal levels.
- Maintain relationships and coordinate with multiple vendors (IBM, Veritas, EMC)
- Tape/Disk based backup, restoration and audit responsibilities.
Technical Competency
- Experience as a Storage & Backup Administrator (3yrs).
- Manage the backup and restoration of systems using Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM).
- Install, manage and maintain TSM environments.
- Fine-tune and troubleshoot TSM environment for optimal performance and resolve complex issues in a timely manner.
- Diagnose TSM platform issues (server and client side) and provide Support in complex, business-critical environment including physical and virtual infrastructure.
- Manage the backup and restoration of systems using Veritas NetBackup/ EMC Networker.
- Knowledge of storage administration and the concepts of file systems, disk partitions, mounts, quotas,mirroring and sizing.
- Evaluate and applies software/firmware upgrades and support packs as required to solve production problems and/or ensure compliance and system integrity.

- Should have very good verbal & written communication skills.
- Should be willing to work on extended and irregular hours when required.
- Strong self-starter, motivated to help team in their deliverable.
- Ability to work on multiple simultaneous tasks in parallel and prioritize between them

Educational & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, IS
- IBM Certified Deployment Professional - Tivoli Storage Manager
- Veritas NetBackup & EMC Networker Certifications.
- ITIL Foundation Certification
