SCCM Specialist

Accountabilities/Responsibility

  • Provide expert level support to Design and Global Operations teams with respect to end user devices and associated capability both within educational establishments and throughout Pearson.
  • Implementation of technology deployments, operating system builds, software distributions, software upgrades, patching and other end user system updates across the managed device estate.
  • Implementation of solutions to automate systems and processes.
  • Create and maintain operating system builds, equipment standards and supporting documentation for users.
  • Management of personal incident and request queues calls to ensure that Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets are met.
  • Prioritize workflows, recommend key decisions, and manage assigned project communication to team via team meetings and line management
  • Maintain technology, processes and policies to enable the use of employee owned devices securely on the company network

Technical Competency

  • More than 4 years of experience in Microsoft SCCM support (2007 onwards)
  • Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 7,8/8.1, 10 operating systems and respective component support
  • Windows Server 2003 / 2008 / 2012 operating systems and respective component support
  • 2 years of Microsoft Active Directory deployment experience
  • Direct break/fix and troubleshooting support for SCCM topologies
  • Experience in SCCM database backup and restore procedures
  • WSUS SCCM integration
  • Understanding of TSQL
  • Operating System Registry Hives
  • SCCM technical design and implementation
  • Powershell, VB and SQL scripting experience and knowledge
  • Working knowledge in Apple Mac operating systems
  • Experience with Casper Suite
  • Experience in BitLocker and other encryption technologies

  • Should be able to carry out expected tasks without supervision
  • Should be willing to work on extended and irregular hours when required

  • Should be comfortable in working under pressure when required

Educational & Professional Qualifications

  • Should possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or any other relevant field
  • MCTS - Administering and Deploying System Center 2012 Configuration Manager
  • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate - (MCSA) - Desktop Infrastructure
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert - (MCSE) - Desktop Infrastructure
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert - (MCSE) - Private Cloud
  • ITIL Foundation is preferred
