Network Security Analyst

Network Security Engineering team is responsible for testing, designing and implementing network-level security controls and solutions driven by CISO policy and standards to reduce the risk to Pearson and its customers.  This includes user networks, data center networks, Wide Area Networks, Cloud networks, and network perimeters.

Within this team, the Network Security Analyst will be focused on the day to day management of customer requests for network security.  This requires analysing customer requirements to ensure that their solution is delivered in alignment to security policy and standards. If requests are not aligned to policy, a further role of the Network Security Analyst is to manage the network security risk exception handling activities, ensuring risk is documented, managed, minimised and ultimately signed off by relevant authorities in CISO and wider business.

 

Qualification & Experience

  • 3 years+ in Information Security;
  • 1+ years administering network devices;
  • Experience on network security device technologies, including “NextGen” Firewalls, DLP, web filtering, NAC, IDS/IPS;
  • Experience with network devices, including firewalls, routers, switches, VPN concentrators;
  • Experience in delivering network security into Data Centre environments, e.g. security zoning concepts, firewall rule design and implementation
  • Strong experience in working with customers delivering technology solutions to fit their requirements
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation abilities;
  • Current understanding of Industry trends and emerging threats
  • Ability to develop workable product solutions to address the strategic imperatives of the business.
  • System testing skills / methodology
  • Familiar with PCI, HIPAA, NIST, GLBA and SOX compliance concepts

 

Desirable

  • Well-rounded background in host, network, database, and application security;
  • Willing to work flexible hours as needed to accommodate global team;
  • Experience implementing security in a customer service environment;
  • Experience driving security awareness; and
  • Professional IT Accreditations (CISM, CCSA, CCSE, JNCIA, CCNA, CISSP, CompTIA Security)
