Video Editor – Full Time (Remote, Sri Lanka)

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Video Editor to join our fast-growing digital team. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end video production, taking raw footage and transforming it into polished, platform-tailored content ready for social media publication.
You will work closely with our content and marketing teams to create engaging, impactful videos that align with each brand's style and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Edit Raw Footage: Take unedited, raw video content and produce finished pieces ready for distribution.
Platform-Specific Editing: Customize video edits to suit different platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) – including aspect ratios, caption styles, pacing, and trends.
Content Posting: Manage the upload and posting of videos to social platforms following brand guidelines.
Storytelling & Structure: Craft compelling narratives that keep audiences engaged through strategic cuts, transitions, pacing, and audio choices.
Graphics & Text Overlays: Add subtitles, motion graphics, and on-brand text elements as needed to maximize accessibility and engagement.
Audio Editing: Clean up audio, balance soundtracks, and add appropriate music/sound effects where needed.
Project Management: Handle multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining strong version control and meeting deadlines.
Brand Alignment: Maintain consistency with each brand's voice, visual identity, and marketing goals.
Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with editing trends, platform algorithm changes, and content best practices to improve performance.
File Management: Organize and manage video file libraries effectively for easy future access.
Requirements
Minimum 2 Years Professional Video Editing Experience (portfolio required).
Fluent English Communication Skills (written and spoken).
Proficient in Industry-Standard Editing Software: Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
Social Media Expertise: Strong understanding of how to tailor content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook Video, and other key platforms.
Creative Eye for Visual Storytelling: Strong sense of timing, emotion, and pacing.
Attention to Detail: Ability to notice and fix small errors (text mistakes, audio inconsistencies, jump cuts, etc.).
Organized and Reliable: Able to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects, and keep work highly structured.
Self-Starter: Comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision.
Strong Internet Connection: Required for uploading/downloading high-quality video files and participating in team communications.
Nice to Have (Bonus Skills)
Basic motion graphics (After Effects experience).
Thumbnail and cover design skills for YouTube or social posts.
Familiarity with AI editing tools (e.g., auto-captioning, AI cut tools).
Understanding of SEO and content optimization for video.
