System Engineer - Windows

The Systems Engineer is primarily responsible for managing all aspects of configuring, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the production servers and handling requests and problem escalations from Service Desk and other departments. Secondarily, the incumbent will be responsible for escalation training of other groups. The engineer determines the severity of issues (triage), prioritizes issues, performs diagnosis of system and software components to identify root cause, and takes action or recommends corrective action for resolution.

The engineer will work with other networks, database, software & quality engineering teams and technical product managers and vendors to clearly state problems, troubleshoot, diagnose and/or resolve complex technical issues.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Daily system administration tasks & troubleshooting of Windows based servers

  • Identify opportunities for Cloud deployment and automation

  • System monitoring, tuning & support

  • On Call Support of servers & flexibility of hours on occasion for releases, upgrades, and maintenance windows

  • OS & Software Installation/Configuration via automated methods

  • Administer Active Directory

  • Collaborate with coworkers both in person and remotely (use of collaboration tools such as WebEx, whiteboard/screen sharing, Google Hangouts & IRC.)

  • Taking ownership during Production Incident and remedying the situation to bring services online for the customers

  • Root cause analysis of Production Incidents

  • Ability to troubleshoot highly complex incidents

  • Administration in Windows Server Operating Systems (2003 / 2008 & 2008R2 / 2012/R2)

  • Administration in Windows Client Operating Systems (Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1)

  • Implementation and Troubleshooting of Server O/S

  • Implementation and Troubleshooting of Client O/S

  • Administration of MS Clustering in Windows Server 2008 / 2012

  • User Administration in Active Directory

  • IIS Basic Administration

  • Toubleshooting Server infrastructure

Educational & Professional Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)

  • CompTIA A+

  • CompTIA Server+

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, IS or Professional Graduate in BCS

Non-Technical Competency

  • Should be able to work independently with minimum supervision from onsite locations.

  • Should be willing to work on extended and irregular hours when required.

  • Strong self-starter, motivated to help TEAM in their deliverables

  • ·bility to present to internal audiences and excellent communication skill
