L2 VOIP Engineer

General Position

Exetel Communication (Pvt) Ltd is looking for a VoIP/PABX systems engineer to work on cloud PBX systems and on other VOIP systems based on Asterisk & Open SIP. You will be responsible for providing higher level technical support for Exetel’ s corporate VOIP customers, which involves setting up new business VOIP systems and troubleshooting them.

You will work with other support engineers based in the Colombo office to provide technical support for Australian customers, and with other talented telephone system developers in Australia to continue the development of innovative and world leading telephone PABX systems.

As a VoIP  Engineer, your work will involve:

• Plan, Design, Configure and Commission Corporate Telephony solutions based on Asterisk Technology, Cisco, Gigaset and Polycom Devices.
• Manage VoIP Projects from Order placement, Requirement Capture, Hardware Delivery up to Service Delivery.
• Integration of VoIP and unified communications services for customers
• Working with a highly efficient Network Engineering team for deployment of VoIP/WAN products and services
• Assistance to an enthusiastic and successful sales team for technical sales solutions

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Excellent Asterisk/Cisco Voice knowledge. CCNA(VOICE) or Asterisk certifications will be an added advantage.
• Specific Cisco UC500 experience
• Some ability in Perl/php/scripting or similar
• Experience and Knowledge with Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP software bundle based servers
• 2 years of Telecommunications/Networking experience, preferably in service provider environment
• IT/Engineering degree or equivalent
• Excellent personal and written English communication skills
