Manager For Volunteer Travel Company in Sri Lanka
This role is for a sharp, go-getter who understands the service industry and wants to work in a growing company helping to develop volunteering projects and a responsible travel experience in Sri Lanka. Role: Developing, Delivering and Managing Volunteer Programs in Sri Lanka
Responsible for: Working with Program director to develop and deliver the volunteer programs of the right type, quality, focus and capacity to meet our needs, assisting the team with day to day operations on the base and assisting with the daily management of participants
Responsibilities
- Overseeing smooth running of programs continually monitoring and improving their quality.
- Organising and leading the involvement of volunteers in their project work Liasing with local partners
- Assistant Coordinators will be required to assist the new volunteer arrivals.
- Help run the orientation week.
- Take records of how the projects are progressing.
- Ensure that volunteers are abiding by the Volunteer guidelines.
- Assistant Coordinators with more specialist experience will placed on the newer and more challenging projects.
- Managing a team of 20+ volunteers and 2-6 staff.
- Overseeing project budgets.
- Writing regular reports.
- Support base management by ensuring: chore duties are complete, hygiene standards are maintained, high health and safety standards are met.
- Deal with complaints, problems, and issues
- Development of new projects
- Act as an enthusiastic role model for volunteers and provide guidance and mentorship
- Adopt a flexible working week including evening and weekend, which may include overnight supervision of volunteers at the volunteer house
- Assisting with office admin and social media tasks

Experience
Previous experience in the student and sabbatical volunteer sectors or in hospitality sectors
working with volunteers is a plus point
ability to manage a team to carry out objectives of the program
