Communication Analyst

Analyst with strong software development and analytical skills required to analyze operational and usage data across the platforms operated by Communications Services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The analysis will involve taking data from one or more platforms operated by Communications Services, merging and processing that data and turning into tabular and graphical output. The tools that are developed may be run on ad-hoc basis, routinely or in real-time.
Identify Opportunities and motivate team to create and deploy automation frameworks and methodologies
The outputs of the analysis will be used for:
- Detecting incidents sooner
- Resolving incidents faster
- Capacity planning
- Right-sizing our contracts with suppliers
- Prepare technical reports, test cases, client presentations, design documentation, and manuals
- Measuring our usage of various platforms, how that varies, and how successful any change programs are.
- Understanding the segments in our user base

Technical Competency

Scripting and basic website development (Linux, bash, Python, Ruby, Javascript, mySQL, d3.js, bootstrap)
Basic understanding of Networking (Routing & switching , VLANs, SNMP)
Detailed design of LAN/WAN/Data Center architecture
Identify Opportunities and motivate team to create and deploy automation frameworks and methodologies
Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment
Should be comfortable in working under pressure when required
Deep understanding of network monitoring & management tools
Preparing diagrams with Microsoft Visio
ITIL knowledge or prior experience in an ITIL managed environment
Google Documents including javascript macros
Manipulating large quantities of structured and unstructured data
Dealing with dirty data sources
Report writing
SNMP would be useful

Non-technical Competency

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Should have very good verbal & written communication skills
Ability to lead smaller teams to achieve a common goal
Ability to make sound decisions in critical situations
Should be able to carry out expected tasks without supervision
Right attitude, a passion for customer service, communication skills (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
Should be willing to work on extended and irregular hours when required
Should be comfortable in working under pressure when required

EDUCATION and PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS

Computer Science degree with 2+ years post-graduation experience
Having F5 Certifications would be a definite advantage
Having Cisco Certifications would also be an advantage
