Commercial Procurement Trainee

Role profile

  • Process Purchase requisitions of internal customers
  • Analyze specifications and consolidate requirements for inviting quotations from relevant suppliers.
  • Prepare commercial evaluations and obtain approvals from relevant budget holders
  • Negotiate with suppliers on potential cost reduction prior to awarding.   
  • Raise purchase orders (PO), obtain approvals for POs and follow-up on deliveries.
  • Maintain up to date records of supplier database and scout for new potential suppliers.
  • Responsible for tracking timely deliveries of orders and ensure the supporting documents are available for supplier payments.
  • Generate monthly reports on savings and open POs.
  • Assist Procurement Manager on day to day operations

Personal Profile

  • GCE Advanced Level - in the core subjects
  • Diploma level qualification in Procurement/ Supply Chain/ Material Management/ Business Management OR part qualification in CIMA/ACCA/CIM/ SLIM or equivalent
  • Age below 25 years
  • Good command of the English language (both written and verbal)
  • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Energetic, fast learner with a positive attitude

 The selected candidate will be on an initial trainee contract for 12 months  and will be paid a trainee allowance.
