Pearson Lanka provides software development & management services to Pearson Teams North America and Australia.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong><span>Accountabilities/Responsibility</span></strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide support services for Storage & Backup Systems.</li> <li>Experience with documenting processes and procedures</li> <li>Provide input and support for infrastructure and application development projects that require Backup infrastructure.</li> <li>Provide on-call assistance for data center operations.</li> <li>Maintenance of storage/VLTs/ Tape libraries and associated software at top levels of performance by monitoring version upgrades and maintenance releases to ensure that environment is optimally configured.</li> <li>Consults with other internal IT teams (database administrators, systems administrators, application engineers) on storage & backup solutions.</li> <li>Works within change management process to ensure that outages are scheduled to minimize impact on clients, but still maintain all hardware and software at optimal levels.</li> <li>Maintains relationships and coordinate with multiple vendors (IBM, Veritas, EMC)</li> <li>Tape/Disk based backup, restoration and audit responsibilities.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><strong>Technical Competency</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Experience as a Storage & Backup Administrator (3yrs).</li> <li>Manage the backup and restoration of systems using Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM).</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Install, maintain, update and administer TSM.</li> <li>Daily corporate backups using TSM software and monitoring of schedules for failed and missed backups.</li> <li>Fine-tune and troubleshoot TSM environment for optimal performance and resolve complex issues in a timely manner.Diagnose TSM platform issues (server and client side) and provide Support in complex, business-critical environment including physical and virtual infrastructure.</li> <li>Manage the backup and restoration of systems using Veritas NetBackup/ EMC Networker.</li> <li>Knowledge of storage administration and the concepts of file systems, disk partitions, mounts, quotas, mirroring and sizing.</li> <li>Expert with storage sizing, performance, and high availability.</li> <li>Evaluates and applies software/firmware upgrades and support packs as required to solve production problems and/or ensure compliance and system integrity.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><strong>Non-Technical Competency</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Should have very good verbal & written communication skills.</li> <li>Should be willing to work on extended and irregular hours when required.</li> <li>Strong self-starter, motivated to help TEAM in their deliverables.</li> <li>Ability to work on multiple simultaneous tasks in parallel and prioritize between them</li> <li>Ability to work with minimal supervision.</li> <li>Ability to be flexible and adapt to any given situation.</li> <li>Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently.</li> <li>Excellent organizational and time management skills.</li> <li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Experience with security best practices and remediation.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><span><strong>Please click the link to reply - https://pearson.taleo.net/careersection/ex/jobdetail.ftl?job=1613113</strong></span></span></p>
