<p><strong>Storage / Backup Engineer</strong></p> <p> </p> <p><span><span>Accountabilities/Responsibility</span></span></p> <ul> <li><span><span>Provide support services for Storage & Backup Infrastructure.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Experience with documenting processes and support procedures.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Provide on-call assistance for storage & backup related infrastructure/datacenter operations</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Provide support for infrastructure and application development projects that are related to Backup infrastructure.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Monitoring all the devices in storage/backup infrastructure to ensure proactive measures on failures.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Maintenance of storage/VTLs/ Tape libraries and associated software at top levels of performance by monitoring version upgrades and maintenance releases to ensure that environment is optimally configured.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Consults with other internal IT teams (database administrators, systems administrators, application engineers) on storage & backup solutions.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Works within change management process to ensure that outages are scheduled with minimum impact on clients, but still maintain all hardware and software at optimal levels.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Maintains relationships and coordinate with multiple vendors on daily activities (IBM, Veritas, EMC, etc.)</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Tape/Disk based backup, restoration and audit responsibilities.</span></span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><span>Technical Competency</span></span></p> <ul> <li><span><span>Experience as a Storage & Backup Administrator (3yrs) supporting production environment.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Demonstrated knowledge on one or more of the following data protection software is essential.</span></span></li> </ul> <ul> <li><span><span>EMC NetWorker, Veritas NetBackup or IBM Tivoli Storage Manager</span></span></li> </ul> <ul> <li><span><span>Manage the backup and restoration of systems using enterprise data protection software mentioned above.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Installation, administration, configuration change & software maintenance of data protection software.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Daily monitoring of scheduled backups of all data protection software (TSM, NetWorker & NetBackup) and take necessary actions on failed and missed backups.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Fine-tune and troubleshoot backup environment for optimal performance and resolve complex issues in a timely manner.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Diagnose platform related issues (server and client side) and provide support in complex, business-critical environment including physical and virtual infrastructure.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Knowledge of storage administration and the concepts of file systems, disk partitions, mounts, quotas, mirroring and sizing.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Expert with storage sizing, performance, and high availability.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Evaluates and applies software/firmware upgrades and support packs as required to solve production problems and/or ensure compliance and system integrity.</span></span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><span>Educational & Professional Qualifications</span></span></p> <ul> <li><span><span>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Networking or Engineering</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Certifications on EMC Networker, Veritas NetBackup & Tivoli Storage Manager</span></span></li> <li><span><span>ITIL Foundation Certification</span></span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><span>Non-Technical Competency</span></span></p> <ul> <li><span><span>Should have very good verbal & written communication skills.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Should be willing to work on extended and irregular hours when required.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Strong self-starter, motivated to help TEAM in their deliverables.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Ability to work on multiple simultaneous tasks in parallel and prioritize between them</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Ability to work with minimal supervision.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Ability to be flexible and adapt to any given situation.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Strong documentation skills.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Excellent organizational and time management skills.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Experience with security best practices and remediation.</span></span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><span><strong>Please click the link to apply - http://pearsonlankavacancies.peopleshr.com/</strong></span></span></p> <p> </p>
